Women and Leadership Programme (WLP):

We have formed functional coordination mechanisms at the national and Local Government levels
which help enhance CSO effectiveness.

We continue to be intentional in increasing the numbers of
women including young women participating in conflict prevention and resolution processes through
our Women and leadership programme that enhances women’s leadership skills.

We believe in women’s power and agency to build equality, resilience and peace. When women meaningfully participate in decision-making, conditions improve for everyone and peace lasts longer.

With CoACT’s women and leadership programme, women at local and national levels increase build social capital,
increase their voice, build their power and consolidate their agency for enhanced and more effective

participation, breaking barriers and cutting through glass ceilings.

They inform and influence form decisions in Parliament and local councils, on peace committees, and other public decision
making fora.
Many have grown their organisations to achieve higher impact, others have documented their
stories and processes, some have become more effective in business, and many have found it
easier to keep their families healthy and their daughters in school.

We work with national and grassroots women organizations, and other key stakeholders to address the numerous
challenges faced by women, as we learn from the best minds in the global Peace building industry.
